It was just like Thomas to want to be the center of attention. I could see from the window that Wendy was all about Carter. She was fussing with him and having a great time. She would make a great mother. Where the hell did that thought come from?

I had to wonder if she even wanted Thomas there with her. She had definitely gotten my attention this morning with the way she laughed and talked with Thomas. They were making me mad.

I expected it from Thomas, but Wendy, not so much. I was upset with her. I didn’t want to feel this way. I remembered everything from last night, but I had no idea how to handle the morning after. She was the first woman in my bed. Those emotions were hard to deal with in the cold light of reality. I didn’t say anything to her about it. I didn’t know what to say. It was all new to me. I was drowning in self-doubt.

There was a spark and we had fanned it into a flame. I could pretend it didn’t happen and everything would go back to normal. I wasn’t sure I wanted to sweep it under the rug.

I watched Thomas as he put his hand on her shoulder moving closer to her. My heart was racing with my face turning red. I couldn't describe the feelings I had inside of me. It was more than casual jealousy. It was taking all my will power to stay standing there at the window. I wanted to wipe his cocky grin off his face with the back of my hand. It would have given me great satisfaction.

I couldn’t justify my actions from last night. It had to be pure unfiltered lust. That was such a tacky word. The more I thought about what I was feeling, the more confused I became. Something was there, that was certain. I had to figure out what it was.

I could sleep with any woman and not feel bad about it. I wouldn’t feel any kind of rage when I saw them with someone else in public. It didn't bother me. This shouldn't have bothered me either. There was a light knock on the door.

“Come in.” I tried not to sound so mad.

I knew that it was my grams.

“Why would you just leave like that? What is the matter?” She asked kindly.

I couldn't lash out at her; not like I did when it came to everyone else. I didn't have it in me. She was the only one that could calm me down.

“I don't know, Grams,” I sighed, looking out the window again.

“I know what it is,” She stated. She wasn't stupid. She was a very smart woman.

“Besides Thomas ruining my life,” I scoffed as she came to stand beside me.

“You don't watch her from afar because she's good with Carter. You already know that.” Grams sighed obviously wanting to say something more.

She was seeing the same things I was out the window. Her eye-sight was just as good as mine.
